- Joy can be lost (Lamentations 5:15; Psalm 51:12)
- Joy can be found (Psalm 30:11; Jeremiah 31:13; Psalm 69:29)
- Joy can be resurrected (John 16:20; Romans 14:17; Philippians 1:25)
15 Joy has left our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.
11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.
13 The young women will dance for joy, and the men—old and young—will join in the celebration. I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing.
29 I am suffering and in pain. Rescue me, O God, by your saving power.
20 I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.
17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
25 Knowing this, I am convinced that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith.
