YouTube: What Is Love?

  1. From Jesus (Luke 9:1-3; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
  2. Stay (Luke 9:4; Luke 3:11)
  3. Go (Luke 9:5-6; Micah 6:8; Acts 13:48-52; Colossians 3:24)

Luke 9:1-6

1 One day Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases. 2 Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 "Take nothing for your journey," he instructed them. "Don't take a walking stick, a traveler's bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes. 4 Wherever you go, stay in the same house until you leave town. 5 And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate." 6 So they began their circuit of the villages, preaching the Good News and healing the sick.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (Scripture reading)

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Luke 3:11

11 John replied, "If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry."

Micah 6:8 (NKJV)

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you? But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God.

Acts 13:48-52

48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers. 49 So the Lord's message spread throughout that region. 50 Then the Jews stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Paul and Barnabas and ran them out of town. 51 So they shook the dust from their feet as a sign of rejection and went to the town of Iconium. 52 And the believers were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 3:24

24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
