Luke 18:31-32
31 Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said, "Listen, we're going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true. 32 He will be handed over to the Romans, and he will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon.
Matthew 26:47
47 And even as Jesus said this, Judas, one of the twelve disciples, arrived with a crowd of men armed with swords and clubs. They had been sent by the leading priests and elders of the people. 48 The traitor, Judas, had given them a prearranged signal: "You will know which one to arrest when I greet him with a kiss." 49 So Judas came straight to Jesus. "Greetings, Rabbi!" he exclaimed and gave him the kiss. 50 Jesus said, "My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for." Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him.
Matthew 26:66-67
66 What is your verdict?" "Guilty!" they shouted. "He deserves to die!" 67 Then they began to spit in Jesus' face and beat him with their fists. And some slapped him, 68 jeering, "Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you that time?"
Matthew 27:26-31
26 So Pilate ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified. 27 Some of the governor's soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. 29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, "Hail! King of the Jews!" 30 And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it. 31 When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified.
Luke 9:44
While everyone was marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus said to his disciples, 44 "Listen to me and remember what I say. The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies."
Luke 12:50
50 I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished.Luke 18:33a
33 They will flog him with a whip and kill him.
Psalm 22:1 / Matthew 27:46
1 My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? 46 At about three o'clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"
Psalm 22:7-8 / Matthew 27:41
7 Everyone who sees me mocks me. They sneer and shake their heads, saying, 8 "Is this the one who relies on the LORD? Then let the LORD save him! If the LORD loves him so much, let the LORD rescue him!" / 41 The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. 42 "He saved others," they scoffed, "but he can't save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him!
Psalm 22:16 / Luke 24:19
16 My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet. / 39 Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it's really me.
Psalm 22:18 / Matthew 27:35
18 They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing. / 35 After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.
Isaiah 53:7 / Matthew 27:12
7 He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. / 12 But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent.
Isaiah 53:9 / Matthew 27:57-60
9 He was put in a rich man's grave. / 57 As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus, 58 went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him. 59 Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. 60 He placed it in his own new tomb.
Isaiah 53:12 / Luke 23:41-42
12 He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels. / 41 "We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn't done anything wrong." 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom."
Luke 18:33b-34
33b But on the third day he will rise again. 34 But they didn't understand any of this. The significance of his words was hidden from them, and they failed to grasp what he was talking about.
Luke 9:22
22 "The Son of Man must suffer many terrible things," he said. "He will be rejected by the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He will be killed, but on the third day he will be raised from the dead."
Luke 13:32-33
32 Jesus replied, "Go tell that fox that I will keep on casting out demons and healing people today and tomorrow; and the third day I will accomplish my purpose. 33 Yes, today, tomorrow, and the next day I must proceed on my way. For it wouldn't do for a prophet of God to be killed except in Jerusalem!
Luke 17:25
25 But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation.
John 13:1,7
1 Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. 7 Jesus replied, "You don't understand now what I am doing, but someday you will."
John 13:22
22 The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he could mean.
Luke 24:44-46
44 Then he said, "When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled." 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 And he said, "Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day."
Hebrews 11:17,19
17 It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God's promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. 19 Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead.
Hosea 6:2 (NKJV)
Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. 2 After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up.
Matthew 12:40
40 For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.
John 3:14-15
14 And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
