  1. Doesn't need permission (Luke 20:1-2; Matthew 28:18-20; John 1:24-26,29-30; John 2:17-18)
  2. But keeps asking (Luke 20:3-6; Great Commission Stat)
  3. For true seekers (Luke 20:7-8; Jeremiah 29:12-14; Proverbs 8:17; Psalm 143:1-6; Pic; Andrew Brunson Pic; Psalm 143:7-8)
Luke 20:1-2
1 One day as Jesus was teaching the people and preaching the Good News in the Temple, the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders came up to him. 2 They demanded, "By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?"

Matthew 28:18-20 (Scripture)
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

John 1:24-26,29-30
24 Then the Pharisees who had been sent 25 asked him, "If you aren't the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet, what right do you have to baptize?" 26 John told them, "I baptize with water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 He is the one I was talking about when I said, 'A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.'"

John 2:17-18
17 Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: "Passion for God's house will consume me." 18 But the Jewish leaders demanded, "What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it."

Luke 20:3-6
3 "Let me ask you a question first," he replied. 4 "Did John's authority to baptize come from heaven, or was it merely human?" 5 They talked it over among themselves. "If we say it was from heaven, he will ask why we didn't believe John. 6 But if we say it was merely human, the people will stone us because they are convinced John was a prophet."

Luke 20:7-8
7 So they finally replied that they didn't know. 8 And Jesus responded, "Then I won't tell you by what authority I do these things."

Jeremiah 29:12-14
12 "In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you," says the LORD.

Proverbs 8:17
17 I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.

Psalm 143:1-6
1 Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. 2 Don't put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. 3 My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. 4 I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. 5 I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. 6 I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.    Interlude [Selah]

Psalm 143:7-8
7 Come quickly, LORD, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don't turn away from me, or I will die. 8 Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
