- It’s a gift (Romans ; 1 John 3:4; Isaiah 59:2; Romans ; Romans ; Romans 3:10-12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Revelation 21:6; Revelation )
- From a loving God (1 John 4:8; 2 Peter 3:9; Exodus 34:6-7; John ; Romans ; John ; Mark )
- Ask, Believe, and Confess (Luke ; Acts 16:30-33; John ; 1 John 1:9; Micah ; Isaiah 43:25; 1 John 5:12-13; James )
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 3:4
4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God.
12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
6 “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
1 John 4:8
8 For God is love.
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
31 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save."
“Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
1 John 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
19 He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.
1 John 5:12-13
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
